 Dale Brown: Director of Racquet Sports Before becoming Director of Tennis, Dale served as the Associate Head Coach for the men’s and women’s teams at LaGrange College. There he assisted in leading the program to some of the most successful seasons in recent program history. Brown also served as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the tennis teams at LaGrange College. Prior to coaching at LaGrange College, Dale was the Head Women’s Tennis Coach for two seasons at Wesleyan College in GA. Dale served as the Head Tennis Coach for three seasons at Frederica Academy where he coached the teams to multiple region titles and one state championship. He has also worked as a tennis coach in Malibu for Nike Tennis Camps and served as an assistant tennis professional at the Sea Pines Racquet Club in Hilton Head Island, SC. Dale holds a Masters in Strength and Conditioning and Bachelors in Business Management from LaGrange College. He played tennis for LaGrange College in 2009-2011. Brown is certified as a Professional by the United States Professional Tennis Association. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  Royce Silvan: Senior Professional Royce has served as a tennis director, head professional, junior academy coach and college coach since 1991. While on Hilton Head, Royce has worked as tennis director/head professional at the South Beach Racquet Club, South Carolina Yacht Club, Indigo Run and Berkeley Hall. Royce graduated from Tyler Junior College in Texas with a degree in Tennis Management. There he played college tennis on the NJCAA national championship team. As a junior tennis player in Seville, Spain, Royce competed at the national level. He was also a top-ranked junior in the South Carolina and Southern Divisions of the USTA. Royce’s passion for teaching, level of energy and attention to details makes him a fantastic addition to our tennis staff. Royce lives with his wife, Kristen, and children, Danielle, Brandon and Niko in Hilton Head Plantation.  George Haley: Staff Professional George is a certified elite USPTA Professional. George comes from Rhode Island where he coached at Providence College and two private high schools. He also managed an indoor tennis club and was director of tennis at a country club. In coaching tennis he specialized in developing players for high school and college tennis. Over 50 of his students achieved All-State honors. Two of his players won The State Singles Championship. One of the students he introduced into tennis reached a ranking in the top 50 players of the world. While coaching high school, George was selected by USPTA/New England as “Coach of the Year”.  Parris Brown: Tennis Court Maintenance Parris is in charge of tennis court maintenance here at Port Royal Golf and Racquet Club. He has been tasked with the new and exciting challenge of maintaining the new hydro courts, with the intent of making them the island’s best. Parris says he is blessed to be surrounded by co-workers with the same aim and intent which makes his job atmosphere less like work and more like a family. Parris is originally from Bluffton and later moved to Varnville. He is married to his High school sweetheart, and they have six beautiful children and their first grandbaby. He enjoys working at Port Royal with his dad, Eddie Brown, who’s been working here for over 30 years in the golf department. |
